How to lead and close AUTHENTIC sales conversations:

Discover problems by asking QUESTIONS

Question

If they Comment on a Post

"Hey (name)! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment on my post!"

- ... "What are you currently doing in this area yourself?"

- ... "I appreciate your perspective. I’d love to hear more."

- ... "Sounds like it’s an issue for you. What’s your challenge in this area?"

💬 Like or Love on the Post

"Hey (name)! Thanks for taking the time to (like / love) my post (today / the other day). Let’s me know people are paying attention! How have you been?"

- ... "I’m curious... What are you doing in this area right now?"

- ... "I’m curious... What made you like / love the post? Anything specific?"

💬 Assess Need

- "What’s your biggest challenge in this area?"

- "Is this something that you’ve struggled with in the past?"

- "What are some of the things you’ve tried before?"

💬 Determine Fit

- "Thanks for sharing all of this with me. Would you like some help?"

- "This is what I do in my business – I help _______ who struggle with _______, find more have more _______. Would you be open to hearing how?"

We are SLOWING down to see if they have a problem FIRST... then share our amazing ___ as their solution.

Language examples:

Potential Customer: Hey Sue. I’m super excited to share that I just partnered with a skincare company that has given me incredible results. I’d love to share more with you, but before I do, is there a specific skin concern you are looking for a solution to? For me, I was hoping to reverse some sun damage.

Existing customer: Hi Ginny! I am so glad you are loving your skin's transformation with the skincare regimen we created. I am curious, do you have something you are using to take good care of your lips too?

How to create transformational content opposed to transactional content

Transformational vs. Transactional:

  • Transactional Conversations/ Content: Focus solely on making a sale. The interaction is short and sales focused.
  • Transformational Conversations/ Content: Focus on building relationships and adding value. They aim is to understand the needs, provide solutions, and establish trust with potential customers.

To create transformational content and conversations, follow these steps:

  1. Listen Actively: Pay attention to what your prospects are saying, their concerns, and their needs.
  2. Ask Open-Ended Questions: Encourage detailed responses to understand their problems deeply.
  3. Provide Value: Offer insights, tips, and advice that genuinely help your prospects.
  4. Build Trust: Be authentic, transparent, and supportive in your interactions.

A transformational sales conversation isn't about talking and telling, it's about listening and LEARNING.
